Sonoran Outfitters Gould's Turkey Hunts
The Gould's turkey is the largest of the five subspecies of wild turkey, with longer legs, larger feet, and larger center tail feathers than any of the other wild turkey subspecies. White bandIng on the tail feathers is another truly magnificent characteristic.
Turkey season in Sonora Mexico takes place in the spring, during the months of April and May. This is a beautiful time of the year in the desert. Hunts are shotgun hunts. We can either provide you with a shotgun, or assist you in getting a gun permit, so you can bring your own.
These hunts are typical "spring" turkey hunts utilizing calling and decoys. To date our hunters have enjoyed 100% success, with many hunters taking more than one tom.
This hunt is a personal favorite for the Sonoran Outfitters staff and a great hunt for beginning hunters. It is a low pressure fun hunt and enjoyable for everyone involved.
